Wireless carrier Boost Mobile is gearing up for the launch of a new smartphone on its airwaves, called Samsung Galaxy Prevail, and expected to be an affordable, yet appealing device for the company's customers.

Previously, all that we've heard on this device was a series of rumors on its possible arrival this month, but nothing solid was made available.

However, following long forum talks on what the upcoming mobile phone might include when made available, leaked documents emerged into the wild, offering us a better glimpse both at the device itself, as well as at its hardware specs.

Just as expected, the new handset would arrive on shelves as a low-end mobile phone, though it would be the first CDMA Android smartphone launched on Boost Mobile's network.

Since it would be a low-end device, the Samsung Galaxy Prevail would sport a price tag of $180, which is quite appealing.

As for the hardware specifications it would arrive on shelves with, the Samsung Galaxy Prevail comes with a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, along with a 2-megapixel photo snapper with video recording capabilities.

Other specs of the new device would include Bluetooth connectivity, accelerometer, speakerphone, built-in GPS receiver, and support for IM and email.

Since it runs under Android, the smartphone is also expected to include support for various mobile services from Google, as well as for applications available for download from the Android Market.

Apparently, Galaxy Prevail is only one of the devices that would arrive to Sprint's Prepaid Group, which includes Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile, in April.

Samsung Factor, a clamshell phone, would arrive at Boost Mobile at $50 too, and there is also a series of devices headed to Virgin Mobile.

This wireless carrier would soon make available on its airwaves the Samsung Restore, a QWERTY slider, at $80, along with the ZTE Peel 3200, an iPod touch case featuring built-in 3G hotspot capabilities, which would cost $100.

While specific info on the availability of these devices has not been unveiled so far, it should not be too long before all the necessary details become available, so keep an eye on this space for further updates.
