If you ever felt the urge to keep count of how many netbooks ASUSTek has released so far, you must know that the Taiwanese manufacturer's Eee PC lineup counts no less than 12 models. As you might imagine, this number will increase in the upcoming months, reaching the impressive amount of 23 different models, most of which are based on the same 8.9-inch and 10-inch form factors, and powered by Intel's highly successful Atom processor.

However, before we see any of these "high-end" Eee PCs whose nearing release the company's CEO confirmed earlier this month, ASUS will roll out yet another "incarnation" of its Eee PC 900 model.

FCC photos of the upcoming netbook have already surfaced, which basically means that the Taiwanese manufacturer will soon release the new model as part of its already vast Eee PC family. The newcomer will be dubbed Eee PC 900HD. Despite no detailed specifications available, it seems that the new netbook will be somewhat different from any other 8.9-inch model in the company lineup, with a bulkier bottom side design. This, in turn, could mean a higher capacity 2.5-inch HDD. Unfortunately, for the time being, we have to make do only with the FCC pictures, as we're awaiting for technical specifications to emerge.

Given the netbook's overall design, we can presume that we aren't talking about one of the company's upcoming high-end Eee PCs, but rather about another Eee PC 900 model designed to provide users with yet another slightly different configuration. Aside from its design features, the new netbook could be built with either an Intel Atom or a Celeron processor, while it could also provide a higher capacity storage solution.

All that's certain at this time is that ASUS keeps on making new Eee PC models, designed to compete with some of the newly released netbooks, like Lenovo's IdeaPad S10 and the upcoming Inspiron Mini or Inspiron 910 from Dell. On the other hand, ASUS is continuously straying farther away from the initial purpose of the Eee PC, namely that of being a small-sized, Internet-capable portable computer system that is affordable for a high number of users.
