OK, the specs are there and they are impressive, but the idea seems a little far-fetched and the device looks a little strange.

Just a rumor now but some would definitely be impressed
by the new appearance. An earlier anonymous source revealed that a PSP 2 was being worked on and one of its most important new features would be an integrated camera which will allow users to stream live video to the PlayStation3 via WiFi.

PSP2, codename Cobalt, sounds just like the bad title of an old movie and, frankly, the appearance that was recently made for the platform is not a very impressive one. It's just like a train car. Don't get me wrong, it's not ugly or anything but if it does become a reality, it is going to have to compete with

As a Gen 1 PSP owner, there's only 2 things I'd like to know that aren't on the list (other than hack/mod questions), and that would be;

- Better Audio? 200% brighter screen not as important IMO as 50 % louder external speaker.
- Will there be more memory for surfing to stop/reduce the "out of memory" stuff? Also what is thememory expansion option, MemStickDuo still supported? 8GB 4GB would be nice, that way 8GB resident for things you access alot, and then expansion for things you wanna share (game saves, non DRM media, etc).

Also hopefully this will be a fast enough proc to allow a fuller version of the browser/plugins so that you can watch GoogleVideo directly, as well as improve load speeds.

Also would be nice if the screen were 720xx480 for better webpage viewing (especially for embeded stuff).

Who cares about the DS? What's the big orgasm? It's like comparing the Sopwith Camel to the F-22. I think Nintendo fans just can't accept PSP literally beat them down in the ground like a sledgehammer smashing a spike through the dirt. It's better, and it's literally provable right before your own eyes my friend. Not just the graphics, but the many other options.

yeah id like more web surfing power and a touch screen'd be nice too. cant see how dual analouge would work what with top space but good luck to them.

I'm saving my cash for the PSP 2, since I know the moment I go out and spring for a lite, they're gonna come out with the better one. I also gripe about the memory problems and would like to see them release a firmware update for the PSP1's IR port. What's the big idea with that? But I do like the idea of a switch to Bluetooth. A touch screen would be nice, but it would have to be with fingers and optional in the games becuase A) I wouldn't want to get it dirty and B) I wouldn't want to lose the stylus. If they are gonna go dual analog sticks, they need to free them up. Mine have a ton of stiction, and I take great care of it. But I figure if they were smart, they would make the RAM on the PSP expandable, that way we could upgrade it and, heck, they could make the software updates interactive, like you choose options, and even more depending on how much memory you have installed. We could go on, but you get the picture. Great product, lots of room for improvment.
