A recently leaked logic board seems to match the inside of the cases perfectly

A new batch of alleged iPhone “Lite” shells have emerged in photos, this time showing what Apple’s 2013 iPhone could look like in yellow, red, and green.

The green case is already old news, but the yellow and red models are a more recent addition to the rumor mill.

Flipped on their back, the cases reveal some metal parts meant to hold the phone’s electronics, including the logic board.

As our readers will undoubtedly remember, another recent leak was the alleged iPhone 5S logic board.

Nowhereelse.fr takes it upon itself to report that said motherboard aligns perfectly with the “attachment points” (screw holes) in the cases depicted in this new leak.

This, of course, doesn’t confirm anything. The colorful shells may well be the enclosures destined for a bunch of Chinese iPhone clones. They could be altogether fake, or manufactured for this particular story.

However, the detailed nature of the leak makes it seem fairly credible. Had these plastic shells been depicted without any metal parts inside, we’d have probably chalked it up as fake.

The intricate components fitted inside, though, seem to suggest these are real iPhone cases. And Apple has been heavily rumored to introduce a cheaper version of the iPhone this year.

In order to cut down production costs for an iPhone version that everyone can afford, Apple this year has been rumored to go with a plastic case and pretty much the same specs as the iPhone 5.

An iPhone 5S with upgraded capabilities is also expected, as some believe Apple will unveil a family of iPhones this year.

It isn’t until 2014 that Apple will release the iPhone 6, analysts believe. And, going by Tim Cook’s comments at Apple’s latest earnings call, that family of iPhones will be most likely unveiled this fall.
