Church attorneys managed to muzzle former member, at least for the time being

Leah Remini left the Church of Scientology early this year and, as rumors would have it, Church leader David Miscavige and other higher-ups are still seething about, because she ranked pretty high to be able to spill some very nasty secrets, if she were so inclined.

Earlier this month, Leah was scheduled to give a deposition about her time with the Church, as part of an ongoing lawsuit filed by Monique Rathbun. Radar Online is now confirming that the deposition has been postponed indefinitely, most likely because Scientology attorneys have been working overtime to muzzle her.

“It was delayed by agreement to take her deposition at a later date. As of right now, the date is not set in stone,” attorney Marc Wiegand, counsel for the plaintiff, says for the aforementioned media outlet.

Weigand adds that the Scientology doesn’t “particularly want the deposition taken” because that would mean risking having their secrets out in the open. However, Weigand assures, he’s working to get Remini on the stand.

“Lead counsel for the plaintiff, Ray Jeffrey, previously told RadarOnline.com that they hoped to have her spill details on church leader David Miscavige’s overarching control of church functions and the Rathbuns in particular. Rathbun is suing the church and Miscavige personally for harassing her and her husband, former high-ranking Scientologist Marty Rathbun,” Radar continues.

Remini did not get into the details of her departure from Scientology, but insiders claim that she decided to leave because she could no longer stand Miscavige’s controlling ways. Things started to go badly for her with the leader when she asked where his wife was, who is presumed missing for years.

The actress did say though that Scientology wanted her “to fail,” and that she couldn’t live her life anymore always being told what to do and what to think. She defected with her family, and has been very honest about how her supposed friends from within the Church have turned their back on her after her exit.
