The development team at Riot Games announces that it is launching a new Team Builder feature for its Multiplayer Online Battle Arena experience, which is designed to offer players more options when joining matches.

The idea is to allow more experienced gamers to specify exactly what kind of experience they are looking for and give them flexibility when it comes to playing matches, especially high stakes ones.

The company explains that, "With Team Builder, you can choose to build or find a team where everyone’s in agreement on what to play and where to go. All that’s left is to figure out together how you’ll dominate the opposition."

The MOBA title is at the moment facing tough competition from DOTA 2, which was created by Valve, Infinite Crisis, which benefits from superheroes and villains taken from the DC Comics universe, and the upcoming Heroes of the Storm from Blizzard.

Any new feature for one of the titles can offer it a competitive edge and certainly high-level players will appreciate the fact that they can choose with whom and how to play League of Legends.

The game uses a free-to-play system and Riot Games makes money via microtransactions for character and cosmetic items.
