The development team at Riot Games wants to expand the audience for its Multiplayer Online Battle Arena title League of Legends with help from a new cinematic video that shows the various heroes gamers can choose from, and the elegant action of the game.

The four and a half minute long video is designed to appeal to newcomers who might be driven away by the complex nature of the game and the rather steep learning curve.

In order to attract more players, the developers at Riot Games have also implemented an honor code for the game and introduced incentives for veterans to help new gamers.

League of Legends is currently facing strong competition in the MOBA genre from DOTA 2, the Valve project that’s currently in beta stage and that is getting ready for the big The International tournament.
