High end graphics cards are the ones that bring fame and glory to the hardware manufacturing companies that are active into that market segment, but it is the entry and the middle level product offering that pack most revenues as the high end, performance centered cards are pretty expensive and useless
without other state of the art hardware components.

It looks like Leadtek, a company well known and liked for its high and, top quality products, understands this fact as well as it announced the launch of an entry level graphics card that comes powered by the Nvidia GeForce 8500 GT graphics processing unit and this card is available in two versions, a passively cooled one equipped with a cooler and heatpipes and an actively cooled one that sports a big copper cooler. Other than the difference in the adopted cooling solution, the two models are identical.

Both of them are coming packed in a small form factor and as they are intended to be used as mainstream low end cards, while also providing quite a number of features. This line of graphics cards will not be able to keep pace with the latest 3D games and applications but they are well suited for use in computer systems that are aimed at multimedia and everyday tasks. From the cinematic point of view, the WinFast PX8500 GT TDH HDMI line of products has a lot to offer as it comes packing an integrated High Definition Multimedia Interface, HDMI for short, a signal connector and Dual-Link DVI-I output, while being able to display resolutions up to 2560x1600.

Like all other graphics processing units from the Nvidia GeForce 8000 series, the 8500 GT chips is fully compliant with Microsoft's DirectX 10 API specifications, while also implementing a number of specific Nvidia technologies like the Lumenex Engine. On the hardware specification side, the Leadtek WinFast PX8500 GT TDH HDMI graphics card comes with a graphics processing core that runs at a frequency of 450MHz, while its dedicated 256MB of DDR2 video memory are clocked at 800MHz. 16 stream processing units and a 128-bit wide memory interface are also present as well as the integrated Leadtek thermal and hardware monitoring solution that ensures an optimal running environment for the graphics card.
