Slightly overclocked card dubbed WinFast GTX 460 OC

It has been a while since NVIDIA unleashed the GeForce GTX 460 graphics adapter and, needless to say, the market is already swarming with a myriad of custom-built, cooled and overclocked models. Hardware makers actually seemed to be in a contest to see just who managed to drive the GF104 highest. Now, even though it can be seen as a bit late, Leadtek thought of finally bringing out its own version of the 1GB GTX 460 and dubbed it the WinFast GTX 460 OC.

The OC in the name obviously stands for overclock, though the tweak made to the GF104's frequency isn't exactly as revolutionary as what others of NVIDIA's partners pulled off. To be more specific, the GPU operates at 725 MHz, a fair jump from the stock 675 MHz but not exactly close to the 810 MHz that a certain Galaxy model can boast of.

The rest of the feature set is not much changed from the one NVIDIA promoted. The WinFast GTX 460 OC comes with 336 CUDA cores, a shader frequency of 1450 MHz and 1GB of GDDR5 VRAM with an interface of 256 bits and an operational frequency of 3,600 MHz. Furthermore, the product obviously supports DirectX 11 graphics, as well as NVIDIA's own technologies, such as PhysX, 3D Vision Surround, CUDA and SLI multi-GPU setups. Finally, the device is equipped with a custom dual-slot cooler that has, among other things, a pair of thick, 8mm copper heatpipes. Displays will be able to communicate with it via dual-DVI and mini-HDMI outputs.

Leadtek did not exactly disclose the price of this newcomer, but this last detail should not take longer than a few weeks to finally be unwrapped, considering that mass availability is planned for sometime this month. Meanwhile, interested end-users can visit the official product page on the company's website.
