Leadtek Research is well known around the world as a top computer hardware manufacturer that is mainly specialized on building graphics cards centered around the Nvidia video processing units. Apart from the graphics cards market where Leadtek has a strong position and a good name, the company also offers multimedia products like TV tuners, video phones and surveillance, motherboards and GPS devices.

The latest
product in the graphics cards department from Leadtek is not an uber cool and ultra performant card but a more entry and middle level offering that is aimed at users that desire a decent graphics quality level for casual games and multimedia. As the new 8400 based graphics card is not aimed at high performance, it comes with a silent and passive cooling solution that makes it perfect for use in office computers or in home media center machines. Thanks to its unique Dual-Link DVI-I output, the WinFast PX8400 GS TDH Silent graphics card is offering resolutions of up to 2560x1600 with a color depth of 32 bits.

This new video processing card is based on the NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS graphics processing unit, built on the 80nm fabrication technologies and it comes with 256MB of DDR2 video memory and a GPU clock of 459MHz, while the Shader processing unit reaches the speed of 900MHz. As the card is packed in a small form factor, it is well suited for low profile computer systems and other cases designed for entertainment intended machines. The new card integrates a HDTV encoder as well as the Nvidia PureVideo HD technology allowing users to experience world-class TV-out functionality up to 1080p resolution. Another Nvidia proprietary technology that is integrated into the WinFast PX8400 GS TDH Silent graphics card is the Lumenex Engine that is used to offer high image quality while maintaining an above average frame rate.

As the newest Leadtek graphics card also integrates the NVIDIA Quantum Effects technology, it is able to deliver stunning physics effects in all modern day simulations and games, while the GigaThread technology is used for an optimal GPU utilization in advanced shader programs. Another good point of the WinFast PX8400 GS TDH Silent card is that it is 100 percent compatible with Microsoft Windows Vista, guaranteeing 3D acceleration and superior performance in that operating system. It also supports the latest DirectX 10.0 API specifications as well as Shader Model 4.0
