A position coveted by many up-and-coming actresses in Hollywood, and even some of the ones that have already made a name for themselves, the role of the Bond girl ensures to whoever lands it worldwide fame and induction in one of the oldest continuing franchises in movie history.

The next James Bond movie seems to have found out its main female star in the French actress Lea Seydoux, whom you might know from the critically acclaimed film “Blue Is the Warmest Color,” which won the Palm d'Or as the 2013 Cannes Film Festival.

The news comes via Schomesknow, which claims that the actress is being eyed for the role of the female lead in “James Bond 24” – the unofficial title for the upcoming movie with the British spy. It seems the report comes from “a very trusted source in the project.”

The same reports does say however, that her casting is not yet definitive, hinting that she could be replaced if something better comes along the way.

So far, there have been lots of actresses that have been connected with the coveted part, some more famous than others. For example, Penelope Cruz's name popped up several times in connection with the part, as did that of British actress Helen Flanagan. Even model Kate Upton was presented at some point as a viable alternative.

Come to think about it, there is very little that we know about this upcoming project apart from the fact that the entire world is eagerly anticipating and waiting for it to come out after the massive success of the last film “Skyfall.”

The few things that we do know are that Sam Mendes has agreed to make a return to the director's chair and that he's keeping a very tight lid on the production process. Daniel Craig will be reprising his role as the legendary spy, Agent 007, Ben Whishaw will also be back as Q, and Ralph Fiennes will be back as M.

The last bit of news about the project was that the production was supposed to start sometime later this year, but it has been pushed back due to script issues. At the moment, the movie is scheduled to be released in theaters on November 6, 2015.

Lea Seydoux is a common name in Hollywood big productions, despite the fact that she's a French actress. She appeared in movies such as “Inglorious Basterds,” “Robin Hood,” “Midnight in Paris” and even the action movie “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.”
