14 DAY TRIAL // Lea Michele had her heart broken when her boyfriend of over two years, Cory Monteith, died of a drug overdose just when she and his family thought he’d managed to kick the habit. She’s finally moved on with her life but it has just been revealed that the lucky man is actually a paid gigolo.
Call this “Pretty Woman” in reverse because word has it that Lea Michele has a lot in common with the character played by Richard Gere in that movie, who falls in love with Julia Roberts’ call girl and invites her into his life – and heart.
In April, Lea shot the official music video for her new single, “On My Way,” which was released about 3 weeks ago. It was then that she met Matthew Paetz, who played the role of one of her friends in the video, and they fell in love. They’ve been seeing each other in secret since.
You can see the video in full below. Paetz is not the guy playing Lea’s love interest (though he’s pretty handsome too, we have to admit) but the darker-haired guy.
TMZ says that Paetz isn’t an actor or a model, as most guys and girls who appear in music videos as extras usually are, but a gigolo. Lea was well aware of that when they started going out, which is why she made sure she kept the budding romance under the radar. In fact, until just now, no one even knew of its existence.
“Sources close to the couple tell us… Matthew has been a hired gun for Cowboys4Angels under the alias, Christian. Cowboys4Angels — which offers male ‘companionship’ to lonely women — is featured on Showtime’s, ‘Gigolos’,” TMZ reports.
“According to the website, Matthew is a certified life coach, dating expert and massage therapist… charging $350 [€258] for one hour and up to $6,000 [€4,430] for a weekend. For $17,500 [€12,931] you can get a whole week. Matthew’s profile is now hidden on the site,” adds the same media outlet.
On the plus side, since he started dating Lea, Matthew has “gone on hiatus,” which could mean he’s thinking of going legit. This could be the beginning of a beautiful romance, just like in “Pretty Woman,” just think about it.
No one deserves a bit of happiness more than Lea. As noted above, last year, she lost her best friend and lover when she least expected it, and that was truly heartbreaking for her. She went away for a while to deal with her loss and then went straight to the studio to pour her heart out in her music.
Most of the tracks on her debut album have been inspired by Cory, with Lea once describing him and their romance as the most beautiful thing to have ever happened to her. As word of the new man in her life has emerged online, fans are saying that, after all she’s been through, Lea has “earned” the right to be happy again.
