In the last few weeks, we’ve been telling you about Chinese video content provider LeTV’s intent of entering the smartphone business.

But unlike other players on the Chinese mobile market, LeTV is planning to make its debut in big style. The company is prepping two models and one of them is said to be taking advantage of Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 810 chip.

A few weeks ago, LeTV’s unannounced smartphone leaked online in an image, showcasing only part of the whole device and giving us strong iPhone 6 vibes in the process.

Latest images reveal LeTV's smartphone bezeless body

This week, the folks at Gizmo China have stumbled upon a few images posted on China’s social media website Weibo which show the LeTV smartphone in its full splendor this time.

The phone was rumored to be completely bezeless, and it appears this will indeed be the case, if we are to believe that the pictures below are depicting the real deal.

The model in the images is probably the MediaTek version of the phone, which is set to arrive with a 5.5-inch 1080p display, an octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 13MP/5MP camera setup and dual SIM card slots.

As for the Qualcomm version, the handset should be offered with a 5.5-inch 2K display, 4GB of RAM and a more advanced 21MP camera sitting on the back.

LeTV's handset could be the first Android phone with USB Type-C

But let’s get back to the MediaTek device. Apart from being almost completely bezeless, the handset also brings forth a very interesting aspect.

Like Apple’s new MacBook with Retina display and the new Google Chromebook Pixel 2015, LeTV’s handset is said to arrive with the new USB Type-C standard. We’re even given a glimpse of the new port in the images we’ve attached in the gallery below.

The LeTV smartphone is surely shaping up to be a very interesting Android device, and given the company’s reputation of developing affordable services, we could hypothesize that the handset will end up being sold for a very budget-oriented price. Although with such specs on board, we shouldn’t hold our breath.

According to sources familiar with the matter, we should be expecting LeTV’s first terminals to arrive on the market around April.
