A couple of nights ago, LeAnn Rimes and husband Eddie Cibrian attended an anti-bullying event and, on the occasion, she opened up to ET about her experience with being a victim of bullying, as the video below will confirm.

Rimes says that she’s been bullied a lot in recent years (i.e. since she went public with Eddie, who was married at the time) especially on social media, but she was a victim of it when she was younger too.

In fact, she could have been killed by one of her bullies in the sixth grade.

“I was bullied when I was a kid… A lot of girls can get real mean during the sixth grade year. I used to perform around Dallas and Texas where I lived, a lot. My principal would put something on the bulletin board if I was in the newspaper or something, and there was this clique of girls that did not like it,” she says.

“So, I had my locker egged, I had a girl bring a knife to school the last day of sixth grade and tried to kill me,” the singer explains.

She also stresses that celebrities are also human and, while it’s ok to have an opinion and voice it, fans and non-fans should not forget about that.
