LeAnn Rimes Isn’t Really in Rehab

Report says singer has issues but isn’t in an actual in-patient rehabilitation facility

Just a couple of days after her 30th birthday and quite out of a sudden, singer and actress LeAnn Rimes announced that she’d be seeking help for stress and anxiety in an in-patient rehab facility. She’s not really in rehab, though, it has emerged.

The moment the shock announcement came, TMZ started doing some digging around to find out whether the “stress and anxiety” excuse didn’t hide a much uglier truth.

It might, the celebrity gossip e-zine reports, adding that it has also uncovered that LeAnn isn’t in an actual rehabilitation facility.

She may have underlining issues as well, but her biggest problem is that she can’t cope with stress. She’s merely seeking help with that at a specialized clinic, the aforementioned media outlet says.

“LeAnn's decision to get help is limited to coping issues. That doesn't mean she doesn't have other issues, including weight, but that's not what this is about,” TMZ writes.

“LeAnn has been in meltdown mode recently over a war she's been having with a group of people who are upset about her relationship with Eddie Cibrian. The group has gone after her in a big way on Twitter, and LeAnn – rather than ignoring them – has fought back,” the report further mentions.

She also tried reaching out to them but this, instead of helping the dust settle down, only made matters worse. In the end, all this stress became too much for LeAnn to bear, TMZ believes.

As it happens, just the other day, LeAnn’s attorney announced that they would be pursuing legal action against one woman of the group, who taped a phone conversation she had with LeAnn and then edited and used it to discredit the star.

We can only imagine that this could have been the straw that broke the camel’s back, since the damning (and allegedly edited) audio only emerged online just recently.

“Our sources say LeAnn is in a facility that teaches people to handle adversity and stress. She is free to leave on weekends – something that doesn't happen in rehab. She's also allowed to use her phone at any time – again, that just doesn't happen in rehab,” TMZ writes.

This explains why her rep stressed that Rimes would be honoring all her previously scheduled promo appearances.
