LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian started dating when they were married to other people and the scandal was huge when photos of them making out at a diner were released online. After all these years, the singer is still carrying around the “homewrecker” label, though she denies she ever deserved it.

You might have heard that VH1 commissioned a full season of their reality show, aptly called LeAnn & Eddie, which premiered a few weeks ago. Ratings have been more than disappointing, but for some reason, they’re still promoting it because they’re probably thinking things will pick up eventually.

Sitting down with People magazine for a chat, LeAnn takes issue with the fact that she’s still called a homewrecker and a baby stealer. That second moniker refers to the way she always describes her relationship with her step-sons, the boys Eddie has with ex-wife Brand Glanville.

She calls herself a “bonus mom” and is always posting tweets and photos to show the world how much she loves them and how special their relationship is. All this might very well be true, but the fact that she does it so often makes celebrity pundits and even some of her fans assume that she’s putting on a show.

All that’s just unexplained hate.

“People are always wanting to make it a story of me being a homewrecker and trying to take someone’s kids,” she says for the celebrity publication. “They take the love I have for my family and twist it around in some weird, sick way.”

Of course, there are other things that are being said online about LeAnn and Eddie, but that’s what bothers her the most. Well, that and the rumor that she and Eddie are together for other reasons than love: she for the media attention and he for her money, more specifically.

“The biggest global misconception would be that we’re not two people who are really in love with each other, that there are ulterior motives to our relationship,” Eddie chimes in to say. “But people just don’t get it. Hopefully people will get a chance to see how we just click.”

If you want a chance to see how they “click” and can’t be bothered to check out their reality show, the video below should probably serve the same purpose: People asked them to play a game to see just how well they knew each other, and the results were as fun as potentially surprising for you.

Of course, this game doesn’t change the fact that the reality show was panned by critics and fans alike and will probably never live to see a second season, but at least they’re still trying to get people to tune in.
