Everyone is a target

Jack Thompson, a Miami lawyer and a very well known activist in the problem of game violence, who has been involved in this kind of activities for the past 12 years, has sent on Friday an e-mail to the press and the main game developers, informing them about his opinion regarding the HotCoffee - Grand Theft Auto San Andreas scandal and the involvement of Senator Hillary Clinton.

According to Jack Thompson, who is 100% behind Senator Clinton, the guilty parties for the situation of Grand Theft Auto and of the violent games in general are first of all ESA official, Doug Lowenstein (who is responsible for the ESRB rating system), the producers from Rockstar Games, the game distributors and developers, in other words, absolutely everyone.

Although the letter expresses Thompson's discontent regarding the way in which ESA treated the Grand Theft Auto scandal, the energetic activist also aims at companies such as id Software and EA, which in his opinion are partially to be blamed for the massacre at Columbine High.

Jack Thompson is making an appeal to the ESA officials, to whom he recommends the dismissal of Doug Lowenstein, in his opinion the one to be blamed for the fact that Grand Theft Auto has been rated M (mature) and not AO (Adults Only).

Jack Thompson, who manages the www.stopkill.com website, is also launching a very harsh attack against ESA's argument regarding the First Amendment, which in their opinion represents the most important reason why games cannot be subjected to censorship.

Doug Lowenstein hasn't issued any comments regarding Jack Thompson's letter, handling the situation much in the same way he did in the past, when subjected to the accusations of the lawyer from Miami.
