A dual-core smartphone that also packs dual-SIM capabilities

The Lava XOLO A700 smartphone has made an appearance on the Indian market with its dual-SIM capabilities packed inside and with Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform loaded on top.

The handset can be seen listed as available for purchase through online retailer flipkart, which lists it at only Rs. 9,999 ($180/€140).

Users who place orders for the device will receive their units within 6 to 8 business days, the retailer notes.

The smartphone was launched with a 1 GHz dual-core processor packed inside, an ARM chipset and not an Intel-based one, as well as with 512MB of RAM.

Furthermore, the Lava XOLO A700 dual-SIM device packs 4GB of internal memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

The handset’s specs list also includes a 5-megapixel photo snapper, as well as a front camera for making video calls.

It was also packed with a 4.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that can deliver a qHD, 960 x 540 pixel resolution.

The Lava XOLO A700 smartphone was also packed with Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as with Bluetooth capabilities, built-in GPS receiver, and a microUSB port.

One of the main selling points of the device, however, is its support for two SIM cards at the same time (it features 7.2 Mbps HSDPA; 5.7 Mbps HSUPA, GSM - 900, 1800; UMTS – 2100, GPRS, EDGE connectivity).

A 1,700 mAh Li-Ion battery powers the device and is capable of delivering up to 3 hours of talk time on 3G networks or up to 288 hours of standby time.

Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer, and Ambient Light Sensor were included in the package as well, along with a Loudspeaker and 3.5-mm headphone jack.
