Popular Indian device manufacturer Lava has just launched the QPAD e704, the first model to be made available from the QPAD family.

The slate has a 7-inch display with 1024 x 600 pixels and draws power from a 1.2GHz quad-core Broadcom 28155 processor fitted with Videocore IV GPU and backed up by a 1GB of RAM and just 4GB of internal storage (expandable via 32GB via microsSD card).

Lava offers two cameras, a 0.3 (VGA) front-facing camera and 3MP back snapper and the slate also embeds dual SIM and 3G connectivity, so users can place phone calls from the slate too. The new Lava tablet runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box.

Lava says the 3500 mAh battery is supposed to provide users with as much as 300 hours of standby time and up to 10 hours of talk time.

Smartphones sporting the new Broadcom 28155 chip have already been made available, but the QPAD e704 seems to be one of the first tablets bundling the processor to ever make it on the market.

As you can see, this is a pretty unimpressive tablet, but it might prove interesting to you since it bundles this particular quad-core Broadcom chip architecture. Anyway, the QPAD e704 sells for Rs. 9,999 / $166 / €121 and will be sold by Flipkart exclusively for the first two weeks.
