Lava Mobiles’ popular Iris X1 has just received an enhanced version which is now available for purchase in India for the same price as the original model.

Lava Iris X1 was launched in India back in May for Rs 7,999 ($130 / €100) outright, but the smartphone was packed with only 4GB of internal memory.

Even though the Iris X1 comes with microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), the fact that it only offers 4GB by default was considered a downside by customers in India.

Well, this is about to change as Gogi.in reports that Lava Mobiles is now selling an enhanced version of the Iris X1, which packs 8GB of storage inside. The smartphone is available for the same price tag, Rs 7,999 ($130 / €100).

It’s unclear whether or not the Indian company will offer any compensation to those who have already purchased the original model offering only 4GB of storage, but we will keep an eye out for any additional details on this one.

For those who have yet to buy the Lava Iris X1, make sure the version you purchase has 8GB of storage onboard, not just 4GB as the previous model of the mid-range Android smartphone.
