Indian OEM Lava Mobiles has just announced the upcoming availability of another mid-range Android smartphone, the Iris 550Q. The handset will soon be available for purchase via major retailers across the country for Rs 13,000 ($215 / €155) outright.

As GSMArena points out, Lava Iris 550Q ships with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box and a decent 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, which is complemented by 1GB of RAM.

The smartphone sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution. It also packs 4GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

Lava Iris 550Q offers dual-SIM support and boasts an impressive 8-megapixel camera with BSI sensor, autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.

According to Lava Mobiles, the Iris 550Q is powered by a 2600 mAh battery that should provide up to 10 hours of talk time.

If all these features do not seem appealing to you, then know that Lava Mobiles also throws in a free flip cover in the sales package. No word on when exactly the smartphone will go on sale, but it should be available in the next couple of days.
