As expected, Lava Mobiles announced the immediate availability of its first tablet featuring 3G and voice calling, the E-Tab Connect. The slate can be purchased for only Rs 9,499 ($175/€135).

According to fonearena, the tablet ships with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box and packs a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7227A ARM Cortex A5 processor.

In addition, Lava E-Tab Connect embeds 512MB of RAM and only 4GB of internal memory, but users will be able to further expand storage up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

The slate sports a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports a rather low 800 x 480 pixels resolution. On the back, it features a 2-megapixel photo snapper, while on the front there’s a secondary VGA camera for video calls.

Other highlights of the tablet include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, GPS and a high-capacity 3000 mAh battery.
