At the time of her death earlier this month, screen legend and silver screen goddess Lauren Bacall had a fortune of $26.6 million (€20 million) and this has been passed on to her three children, among which she divided it equally in her will.

The only exception from that round sum of money was made for the later actress' dog, Sophie, which also got a large slice of the pie, The New York Post reports. Among the other wishes of the dead actress is the request that her children keep her personal papers private.

“I request that my children respect my wish to keep private certain personal letters, writings, diaries and other papers or memorabilia,” the actress wrote in her last will, which is dated September 2013 and goes on for 10 full pages.

The most remarkable part however remains the fact that Lauren decided to will to her dog $10,000 (€7,449) in order to make sure that it continues to live the same life it was accustomed to when she was still alive. The dog is a papillon breed, and Bacall's son Sam was tasked with overseeing that the money left in the will is put to good use.

The rest of the money is going to be divided into equal parts among her three children, Sam Prideaux Robards, Stephen Humphrey Bogart, and Leslie Bogart.

Bacall made sure that her grandchildren also got a handsome sum as a present. She left a quarter of a million dollars to Calvin Robards and Sebastian Robards. In her will, the actress mentions that the money is to be used for college and whatever is left should become available to them at the age of 30.

Apart from family, Bacall also made sure that some people close to her during her final days were also rewarded for their services. One household staffer by the name of Maria Santos got $20,000 (€15,099), while a maid by the name of Isla Hernandez was left $15,000 (€11,324).

The happy housekeeper exclaimed when she found out, “Oh, my God! It’s wonderful. I never thought she would do something for me.” Speaking about her former employer, Isla admitted that she was both “nice” but also “demanding.”

All the three children are named as executors of the will. Bacall's estate is made up of her co-op apartment, movie royalties, personal property, cash, an art collection, and the remainder of her trust she shared with ex-husband Humphrey Bogart.
