14 DAY TRIAL // For the past several days, there have been plenty of rumors that Tom Cruise, despite rumors of wanting to get back with Katie Holmes, was already dating another woman who, unlike Holmes, happened to be a Scientologist as well: Laura Prepon, star of the new hit series “Orange Is the New Black.”
Though his publicist rarely bothers to deny any rumor about his personal life, he’s making an exception this time, telling Us Weekly that there is absolutely no truth to the report that he’s dating Prepon. An insider close to Cruise confirms that they’re just friends.
“They see each other at some functions, but they are not dating. He will date again and has been talking with women,” says the spy, trying to explain why Cruise had been spotted leaving The Manor Hotel in Los Angeles after having dinner with Prepon.
The insider is certain Cruise will find love again. The wounds from the divorce have healed and it’s only a matter of time before he steps out with a new lady. “He's actually a lot more relaxed and more extroverted,” says the spy.
Prepon previously dated actor Christopher Masterson, and broke up in 2007 after a 7-year romance.
As noted above, very recent reports claimed that Cruise wasn’t only hoping to win back ex-wife Katie Holmes but that he’d actually set out to do so. Unnamed insiders told the tabs that he was thinking the coming holidays would provide him with ample opportunity to get back in Katie’s graces, since they would be meeting more often to talk about holiday plans for Suri.
Tom and Katie were married for 5 years, with reports saying that, at the time she had filed for divorce, she’d practically been planning her “escape” for months because of his affiliation with the Church of Scientology.
Certain reports even claimed that she’d used burners to contact her attorney and plan her grand escape, which, if true, probably means she has no intention of ever getting back with her ex.
