A new Opera development version has been released and the makers have made a number of important improvements to the browser that include better bookmarks and new themes for the application.

Now that Opera has been released for the Linux platform, the users can experience the same kind of features that are present on all other platforms. It also means that the development version is aimed at Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X and it's possible to experience all the improvements along with everyone.

Even if Opera is based on Chromium, it's quite different from Google Chrome. A part of the community felt that their favorite browser would be too close to the one built by Google, but it's pretty obvious that that's not the case. In fact, Opera managed to keep its appeal and unique feeling, and it's still bringing new features on a regular basis. Most of the time the devs are adding things that are nowhere to be found in any other browser.

What's new in the latest Opera dev

New releases are not usually very big and bring only incremental changes, but from the time to time the makers of Opera decide to provide us with some more consistent improvements. In the latest iteration, the Bookmarks have been refined and users will find some very interesting themes ready for them.

"Suggestions have been enabled in Address Bar drop-down, making it even easier to locate a page your have bookmarked previously. We have also improved the interaction when dragging between the bookmarks bar and bookmarks manager. Perhaps best of all we have added the frequently requested “Remove” button to the bookmark popup," reads the official blog.

The devs have also explained that they are looking to find what's causing the problems with the Sync features and now there are more bundled themes available from the start.

More details about this release can be found on the official website. You can download the latest Opera 28.0.1745.0 version from Softpedia. This is not a stable release, so it's likely users will encounter bugs. The Windows and Mac OS X versions can be downloaded from the same page.
