On May 30, the Manjaro Development Team, through Philip Müller, informed all Manjaro Linux users about the immediate availability for download of the tenth update for the stable Manjaro Linux 0.8.12 distribution.

As you might have already guessed from the article's headline, Manjaro Update 2015-05-30 (stable) is here to fix the RAID 0 data corruption bug related to the EXT4 file system in all supported Linux kernel packages.

At the moment, Manjaro Linux 0.8.12 supports Linux kernels 3.10.79 LTS, 3.12.43 LTS, 3.13.11.20, 3.14.43 LTS, 3.16.7.12, 3.18.14 LTS, 3.19.8.1, and 4.0.4, which means that this is a very important update and all Manjaro users must upgrade as soon as possible.

"With this we fixed the nasty 'Data corruption on software RAID 0 when discard is used'-bug for all kernels (314 - 40)," says Philip Müller on behalf of the Manjaro Development Team. "Please give us feedback and report any findings with this update."

In addition to the updated Linux kernel packages, Manjaro Update 2015-05-30 comes now with an updated tool-chain and the recently released KDE Plasma 5.3.1 desktop environment. Of course, several other core components have been updated, and annoying bugs plugged.

All Manjaro 0.8.12 users are urged to upgrade immediately

Once again, we remind all Manjaro Linux 0.8.12 users that Manjaro Update 2015-05-30 (stable) is an extremely important update for the distribution and that they must upgrade their installations immediately. The update is already available in the software repositories.

We're also informing all Manjaro 0.8.12 users that, if they had RAID configurations using the EXT4 file system and suffered data loss, as they were affected by the famous data corruption bug, after the upgrade they must check the integrity of the file system using the fsck utility, as well as restore their files from a safe backup.
