14 DAY TRIAL // Blizzard has rolled out another series of tips and details about Heroes of the Storm, its upcoming multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) experience, this time focusing on Kerrigan, the Queen of Blades from the StarCraft universe.
Heroes of the Storm is currently in a closed technical alpha stage and Blizzard has allowed only a few lucky users to see just how the online experience handles and convince themselves about the differentiating factors between it and other rivals like Dota 2 from Valve or League of Legends from Riot Games.
Now, Blizzard has offered some fresh details about one of the game's most iconic characters, Kerrigan, on its official website.
In case you've been missing out on previous titles from the developer, Kerrigan first appeared as a Terran Ghost unit in the original StarCraft but was quickly betrayed and turned into the vicious Queen of Blades for the Zerg faction.
In the latest StarCraft 2 chapter, Heart of the Swarm, Kerrigan stepped into the spotlight and delivered some interesting new developments for the sci-fi universe.
In Heroes of the Storm, Kerrigan makes an appearance as one of the most intriguing units.
"Sarah Kerrigan hails from the depths of the StarCraft universe, and in Heroes of the Storm, Kerrigan takes on the role of an Assassin who is a heavy-hitting, combo-based Hero who specializes in initiating fights and forcing her will onto her opponents. The cunning Queen of Blades is definitely a strong ally that you’ll want by your side as you seek to control the Nexus!"
Besides the special description, Blizzard also added a few special tips for those who want to make the most of Kerrigan's various abilities inside the actual game. From Primal Graps, to Impaling Blades and even her ultimate, the Ultralisk summon, players can make a definite impact on the battlefield.
"Use Kerrigan’s Primal Grasp [E] to pull siege giants into tower range. Impaling Blades [W] can be combo-ed with Primal Grasp [E] to stun multiple enemies. To perform the combo, place Impaling Blades in front of Kerrigan and follow up immediately with Primal Grasp. Any enemy hit by the blades will be stunned."
"Auto attacks and abilities proc Kerrigan’s Trait, Assimilation which gives you a temporary shield when you attacking enemies. Use this to your advantage in team fights! Kerrigan’s Heroic: Summon Ultralisk [R] is great for singling out Assassins. Click and unleash the beast!"
Blizzard is still working hard on Heroes of the Storm so it's unclear when a public beta is going to appear for the online game. Until then, check out Kerrigan and a few of her alternate skins below.
