New freeware for your iPhone, iPod touch

It's been a while since we dug around the latest added iPhone and iPod touch applications. As most users should know, there are now countless free apps to choose from in the iTunes App Store, some of which are pretty cool, therefore worth mentioning.

TooDoo

Yes, TooDoo is just another one of those apps that let you write something down and save that something as a to-do note, marking its priority, choosing a color scheme and more. You can even stamp the to-do notes on your iPhone's home screen so you don't have to search for them all the time. TooDoo's App Store description goes as follows:

Have you ever written a few tasks on a scrap piece of paper, put that paper in a 'safe' place, and then forgot or misplaced that magic list after you left? If you’re a list maker, or just someone who needs a little help in the organization department, TooDoo is here to help! Now you can keep that to-do list in a convenient place right on your iPhone or iPod Touch. Main features of the application include:

- Add, edit, and delete to-do items - View All to-do items or see only the Incomplete or Completed ones - Choose between 2 color schemes (light and dark; see pics) - Display the number of Incomplete items on the Home screen (this can be enabled/disabled in the settings) - Hide priority labels to reduce clutter on the list screen.

According to developer KayZee Solutions, minor advertising is used only to notify you of important changes / updates and status information related to TooDoo and KayZee Solutions. This does not affect page load time, as you can work while it loads in the background.

App Fiend

Another cool app recently approved by Apple is Todd Barnes' App Fiend. The app lets you immediately see what your Friends have been up to - see what apps your friends have added to their list and what they thought about them. You can even set up a "Gimme List" where you can keep track of the Apps that you'd like to try in the future (sort of like the TooDoo side of App Fiend). Listed under Lifestyle, App Fiend is described as such (excerpt):

AppFiend for the iPhone and iPod touch takes sharing App information with your friends to the next level. Built around the popular App Fiend service from the folks at AppFiend.com, you can easily share with friends what Apps you have tried, and vice versa [...] Immediately see what your Friends have been up to. Adding Apps? Rating Apps? You see it in an instant with the Activity list. Main features include the ability to give apps a personal rating and review that is trusted and unbiased - all your friends will automatically see your "My Apps" list and your rating and reviews; set up a "Gimme List" where you can keep track of the Apps that you have yet to try, but want to check out in the future and read detailed information about an App and even launch the App Store to purchase it.
