Free apps available for German and UK users too

Sunnyvale mobile phone maker Palm seems determined to offer as many applications as possible to users of a Palm Pre, its available mobile phone that runs under the newly released webOS operating system. Although the number of software solutions available on the company's App Catalog was a reduced one at launch, and quite a while afterwards, more and more apps are currently being submitted to the portal, with more than 30 solutions having been included to the storefront this week only.

The Palm Pre, as many of you might already know, is now available in other countries besides US too, including Germany, Spain and the UK, and now there are also a series of applications available with the App Catalog that are not provided by US developers, such as billger.de, free; SPIEGEL ONLINE, free; BILDmobile, free (aimed mainly at German users); or Yell.com, free (for UK Palm Pre owners).

At the same time, Pre Central shows that a wide range of apps that can be easily used by anyone who has a Palm Pre have been added this week. The list includes a series of free apps, such as The Weather Channel one (a US weather app that also provides interactive maps and forecasts), Mediafly Mobile Video+Audio (access to video and audio recordings hosted on Mediafly), or TWiT by Mediafly (TWiT.tv netcast network brought to Palm Pre).

Other apps are also available, only that they are paid apps, with prices ranging from $0.99 to $9.99. At $0.99, users will find new software solutions like TechTray, Match ‘Em, Unit Converter, The Surprise, Phone Home, PopBlocks, Peg IQ, LaunchPoint Speed Dial, I’m Here, ColorClip, Chameleon, and Brick, while at $9.99 they will find Golf Caddie.

More apps include Dealert, Tank Tracker, Tweed, and My Loaned Items, priced at $1.99 each, Sudoku Classic, Hebrew Calendar, FMCaltrain, ELLE Astrology, and dkGoogleVoice, which cost $2.99 each, as well as ActiveCard, and ptHealth, both priced at $4.99. As many of you might already know, the paid apps can be purchased only by Palm Pre users in the US, yet they are expected to soon become available for those in other countries as well.
