Microsoft today informed Malaysian software developers that this is the last week when they are allowed to submit Windows 8 Apps to the Windows 8 Store, as the company is gearing up for the Windows 8 launch.

While this is mainly aimed at Malaysian developers, Microsoft will most likely send similar reminders to developers from all over the world, as the company will introduce the new Windows 8 operating system on October 25.

“Calling all the Windows 8 Developers who has not submit your Windows 8 Apps to the Windows 8 Store, please be reminded to submit your Windows 8 Apps by this week so that your Windows 8 Apps can appear in the Windows 8 Store at Windows 8 Launch,” Microsoft said in a blog post.

There are two main reasons why developers are recommended to send their apps this week and Microsoft mentioned both of them in the blog post:

- If you submit your Windows 8 App by this week, Microsoft will sponsor for your *Windows 8 DevAcc for 1-Year upon successful publication of your Windows 8 App to the Windows 8 Store. The payment will be reimbursed upon proof of publication. - During the Windows 8 Launch, when Windows 8 devices are available, consumers can already browse the Windows 8 Store and download your Windows 8 Apps, and you start to gain $$!

Windows Store is currently providing access to more than 2,000 applications, most of them free, but the company expects this number to grow bigger after the official launch of Windows 8. The new operating system will go live on October 25 and the company expects it to sell in record numbers before the end of the year.
