Earlier this year, in February, Nissan proudly announced that its LEAF sold in record numbers in Europe in 2013. More precisely, the company announced sales amounting to 11,120 units.

By the looks of it, the year 2014 is going to be a very good one for the company and its LEAF as well. Thus, Hybrid Cars informs that this past March was the second-best month for Nissan LEAF sales in the US ever since the vehicle was launched back in December 2010.

The same source details that, according to information shared with the public, Nissan documented sales of 2,507 units in this year's March in said country.

When compared to the how many such cars found loving homes in the US in March 2013, this represents an increase of 12.1%.

Commenting on these latest figures concerning LEAF sales in the US, Toby Perry, Nissan’s director of EV sales and marketing, said that, “LEAF is continuing to see strong performance as our buyers become evangelists for the vehicle.”

Furthermore, “We’ve also seen an increase in showroom traffic as we enhanced our marketing presence in March.”

According to Nissan, the LEAF was best sought after on the west coast and in Atlanta. Still, the car appears to be fairly popular in Washington D.C., Raleigh-Durham, Salt Lake City, Boston, Austin, Houston and Dallas-Ft. Worth as well.
