XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the turn-based tactical action game developed by Firaxis and published by 2K Games, can now be purchased with a 50% discount on Steam. It's not yet available for Linux, but that's about to change.

A few days ago, the studio that is porting the game to the Linux platform, Feral Interactive, made the official announcement and ending the rumor and speculations about the impending launch. The launch date hasn't been announced yet, but this is a good opportunity to get the game with a 50% discount.

“XCOM: Enemy Unknown will place you in control of a secret paramilitary organization called XCOM. As the XCOM commander, you will defend against a terrifying global alien invasion by managing resources, advancing technologies, and overseeing combat strategies and individual unit tactics,” reads the official synopsis of the game.

The title has already been available on other platforms for a couple of years, and this is not the first discount and it won't be the last. In any case, if you decide to buy it, you might notice that the DLCs (XCOM: Enemy Unknown – Elite Soldier Pack, XCOM: Enemy Unknown – Slingshot Pack, and XCOM: Enemy Within) also benefit from the same discount.

The promotion is set to expire in a few hours, so make sure you get it quickly.
