The Fall, a 2D atmospheric platformer inspired by the Asimov universe and developed by the Over The Moon studio, can now be bought on Steam for Linux with a 50% discount.

The game has been designed as a trilogy by the Over the Moon studio, and this is just the first part in the story. It only has a few months on Steam and the game already got it's first major discount.

"Take on the role of ARID, the artificial intelligence onboard a high-tech combat suit. ARID's program activates after crashing on an unknown planet. The human pilot within the combat suit is unconscious, and it is ARID's duty to protect him at all costs! As she progresses into her twisted and hostile surroundings, driven to find medical aid before it is too late, the realities of what transpired on this planet force ARID to reflect upon her own protocols," reads the synopsis on Steam.

The gameplay is mostly built as an adventure game, but some combat has been integrated as well. Players will have to solve some interesting puzzles and progressing through the story might not be as easy as you think.

The Linux system requirements are not very high and most users should be able to play it: Ubuntu 10.04 or later, a 2.5 GHz dual core processor, 2 GB of RAM, GeForce 8600 or equivalent with 256 MB of memory, and 450 MB of HDD space.
