Apparently, it was foolish of me to imagine Anna Nicole Smith would ever be allowed to rest in peace. And the fact is, her name is tossed around a lot these days, with Rita Cosby's infamous tell-all book about the sad end of her life and Howard Stern just serving her with legal papers for the $60 million trial he's filed against her. And now it turns out that Larry Birkhead is joining the crazy freak show as well.
It is reported that Birkhead will indeed co-star in his own reality TV show with his daughter, Dannielynn. There were some rumors flying around about this last month, but I honestly thought they were not serious. However, Larry has been in talks about this and now it looks like it's a done deal.
Birkhead even had the nerve to state that "I don't want to give away something yet. It's basically the 'day in the life of daddy duties. The truth is, people came to me with pitches, and I haven't accepted anything. It's something they continue to talk to me about. It's multiple networks. I'm listening to what they have to say. I turned down ["Celebrity Rap Superstar"]".
But now it looks like his love for the big bucks finally eroded that thin shell of his paternal love for baby Danielynn. I mean, hasn't that baby been through enough without actually having millions of cameras flashed at her every day? I mean, her mother had the same treatment and look where she ended up.
And if we needed more reasons to believe that Birkhead is as big a media whore as Howard K. Stern, Virgie Arthur, Rita Crosby, Big Moe and all the rest of them, then listen to this. When he was asked about the rumors that are flying around about how he kept all of the $1.7 million he got from an OK! shoot with little Danielynn instead of putting it into an account for the baby's future, his answer was more than suspicious.
He said, "I'm not going to discuss contracts because of confidentiality agreements. And I don't think it's anyone's business. But if I wanted to, I can do whatever I want to, because she's my daughter. Let Anna rest in peace, and let me move on". Yeah, that's definitely a compelling argument - especially because it's his own money he's fighting for, and by the looks of it, he's cashing in quite nicely.
