Kiddie friendly tablets are becoming quite mainstream these days, as more and more parents believe their children could benefit from these devices starting at a very tender age.

The Lark SmartKid 7 tablet has been just introduced and comes sporting an atypical circular frame and very vivid, fun colors. It really does look like a kid’s toy.

The slate comes pre-installed with a lot of applications that should be suited for children aged three to six, notes TabletManiak.  Since the tablet is going to be used mostly by kids, the manufacturer has been taking extra precautions and reinforced the device with magnesium alloy.

The product is also drop and shock resistant, so it should survive being used by the little ones. SmartKid 7 allows parents to take total control of the tablet and manage/filter the content their child has access to.

The slate is basically a 7-incher coming with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. The powerhouse of the device is a dual-core 1.2GHz processor fitted with 1GB of RAM and backed up by 4GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card).

Parents and children acquiring this product will also discover the slate has a USB port, a 2MP main camera and a decent enough battery of 3700 mAh (good for up to six hours). The Lark SmartKid 7 will sell for an affordable $130 / €95.
