Due to all the new TVs that got launched this past couple of weeks, the market is feeling the effects of a new wave of orders.

According to word on the net, however, from market watchers of all sorts, shipments went up by 11% during the month of August alone.

That was actually before the product announcements at IFA 2013 happened.

That suggests that Samsung, LG, Sony, Philips, Panasonic and everyone else with a stake in the TV and monitor segments expected their new products to be well received.

Sure enough, the curved OLED TVs and large-size LCD UHD TVs of up to 110 inches acted as a magnet for public attention. Sure, people won't afford those beasts, but they'll be more prone towards buying something from the company that made them.

For those who want numbers, 19.31 million LCD TV panels shipped in August, 5.8% more than in June. UHD TVs alone rose 47%, to 380,000.
