Professional model prompts the ire of the Beliebers

It doesn’t do to overgeneralize, but the Beliebers, Justin Bieber’s loyal fans, have a very bad reputation online, mostly because they use social media to vent frustration and anger, sometimes in a very violent manner. Professional model Lara Stone knows all about that now.

As you might have heard, pop star Justin Bieber is putting his sweet face and ripped and tattooed body to good use, in what can only be deemed another attempt at proving that he’s grown up: he’s a Calvin Klein underwear model now, with Lara playing the “love interest” in the newest campaign.

Racy ads are out, fans take a moment to take it all in

Embedded below are the first video ads with Justin and Lara, while attached to this article you will find one of the photos from the campaign that seems to have gotten many fans upset. Clearly, that woman draping herself all over Justin and even daring to touch his crotch has no place doing that.

The announcement of the Calvin Klein partnership, followed by the release of this material, sent fans in a frenzy, with some needing hours to get over the shock of Bieber’s amazingness and overall perfection. Their words, not ours.

However, when that happened, they realized something more important: there was someone else in the ads as well, and she seemed unable to keep her hands to herself. Instead of thinking it through and understanding that Lara was a professional model who was only doing what she’d been contractually bound to do, the same fans took to sending her death threats.

That’s right: Stone is receiving death threats for “daring” to put her hands on The Biebs.

You will find some tweets under the videos with a sample of the things people are saying about Lara on Twitter right now, but we obviously can’t embed most of them because of the kind of language used. Some Beliebers are very violent verbally and have no filter, but the bottom line is this: they will go out and kill Lara if she keeps putting her hands on Justin, they promise.

A Belieber history of cyber bullying

As shocking and downright unbelievable as this might sound, it isn’t the first time it’s happening – nor will it be the last.

The Beliebers have a long history of cyber bullying / abuse, starting with the girl who was so uninspired as to falsely claim she’d given birth to his first child, the result of a one-night stand, down to ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez, good friend Kim Kardashian, and pretty much anyone they deem “not worthy” to come into contact with him.

Obviously, to these fans (those who resort to sending death threats online, that is), Justin is more than just a regular person: he is the closest thing to a god. A god in CK knickers and tattoos and a very bad and recent bleach job, but a god nonetheless.
