Lara Flynn Boyle was considered one of the most beautiful actresses in showbiz at the time she broke on the scene with her role as Donna Hayward in the cult TV series “Twin Peaks.” With the show getting a revival on Showtime in 2016, Lara is now eager to reprise the role that made her famous, word has it.

The actress stepped out for lunch the other day and paparazzi photos snapped on the occasion are now paving the way for speculation that she’s had even more work done on her face, presumably so she can get her job back.

Boyle wants back on “Twin Peaks”

The National Enquirer (story via Daily Mail) claims that the actress, who has worked few jobs in television and film in recent years, is “desperate” to get producers and series creators David Lynch and Mark Frost to take her back as Donna.

“She really wants to return. She desperately needs the career boost,” an insider reveals for the tab. “David and Mark have some bad memories of working with Lara, but I still think their plan is to bring her back on the new series. They just seem to want to make her sweat a little.”

If you recall, in the feature film “Fire Walk with Me,” which came out after “Twin Peaks” was canceled and served as a prequel to the events portrayed on it, Boyle was replaced as Donna with Moira Kelly, amid rumors that Boyle believed herself such a superstar that she asked for an impossibly high salary to come back to the role.

That is to say, Lynch knows first-hand that Lara Flynn Boyle isn’t irreplaceable, even if that means stepping on a few fans’ toes. If he has the principal cast on board (which he does), he can make season 3 of the series work without her.

More plastic surgery rumors

FishWrapper notes that Boyle is looking much better these days, compared to her puffy face last year. There is a not-too-subtle hint there that she might have had more work done, which, in turn, would make her resemble her younger self and thus make her suitable for the Donna role again.

The actress never openly admitted to plastic surgery, but if you ever have the curiosity of Googling “bad plastic surgery,” her name is likely to come up. She is believed to have had several lip augmentations, facial fillers, several nose jobs, a browlift, a facelift and a lot of Botox.

The “evidence” of all that work is in the photos of her throughout the years, some of which you will also find in the gallery below. The same photos indicate that, indeed, Boyle looks better today than she did last year.

Who’s coming back to “Twin Peaks”?

First of all, Lynch and Frost are coming back. Considering that the series was their idea and what an unfortunate turn it took in late season 2, when they took a huge step back from it and were already focusing on other projects, the importance of their return simply can’t be stressed enough.

Then, Sheryl Lee (Laura Palmer), Ray Wise (Leland Palmer) and Grace Zabriskie (Sarah Palmer) are also reprising their roles. They also appeared on Lynch’s 25th anniversary DVD special, so they were probably the first to say yes to the offer.

Kyle MacLachlan (FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper) and Madchen Amick (Shelly Johnson) have also confirmed their involvement.

Do you think that Lara Flynn Boyle has any chance of being called back after the diva tantrum she allegedly threw when she refused to be in “Fire Walk with Me”? Let us know in the comments section below.
