Publisher Square Enix has announced that Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris will be available to download starting December 9.

The cooperative adventure game is a sequel to the pretty well-received Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, following Lara as she unravels yet another mystery, this time set to the background of Egypt.

Although Temple of Osiris can be played in single-player in its entirety, the game also supports up to four people in cooperative multiplayer, both local as well as online, with the other players taking the roles of Carter Bell, a fellow explorer, and the ancient Egyptian gods Horus and Isis, because why not?

Players are challenged to defeat the evil god Set, employing the assistance of the aforementioned gods, working together to explore the temple and defeat scores of enemies from the underworld, as well as avoid nasty traps and solve mind-boggling puzzles.

The upcoming game is currently in development at Crystal Dynamics, the same company working on the sequel to last year's gritty and solid full-fledged Tomb Raider reboot.

Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris will be available for the Windows PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms, set to launch on December 9.

In case you missed the announcement back in June, here's the trailer.
