It's official Wii fans, your version of the Chrystal Dynamics-developed Tomb Raider Anniversary has just shipped to retailers. According to Eidos, the company behind the series since its early PlayStation (one) installments, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider Anniversary for Wii delivers three extra gameplay hours through exclusive Wii content.

No other version of Tomb Raider Anniversary features these three hours of extra content, but the rest is the same as with all other installments. As such, we've put together a list of characteristics Wii gamers should also find appealing, even more so as they'll be maneuvering Lara using motion sensitive controls.

"The Nintendo Wii is a hugely innovative games console and we wanted to make a special version of Anniversary to appeal to Wii owners," said Kathryn Clements, Senior Brand Manager, when Eidos was just announcing that Anniversary was in the works for Wii. "The Wiimote & Nunchuck controller allows Wii gamers to control Lara in brand new, unique ways, and there are plenty of new features, to be revealed soon, which will ensure Anniversary really hits the spot - literally."

In this latest installment of the series, Zip and Alister are gone (not dead of course, but they weren't even concept art when the first TR was developed), while Lara has no headset, PDA, PLS or Binoculars. The grapple however has returned in the form of a hook grapple (not magnetic), the Dual Uzis and the shotgun are also making a return.

Enemies in every version of the game, including the Wii since the storyline is the same, are as follows:

- Bats - Wolves - Rats - Bears - Black Panthers - Crocodiles - Raptors - Gorillas - Lions - the T-Rex - Cat Mummies - Winged Mutant and the Giant Mutant (from Atlantis) - Larson Conway, Pierre DuPont and Jacqueline Natla are the only human enemies Of course, just like any other TR game, secrets will play a certain role, only this time, collecting them will have somewhat of an impact on progress. Several costumes might be unlockable as well, such as Lara's swim suit in TR II. We also have this TR Anniversary Demo for you if you like - PC version, so you can give it a go to know for sure whether it's worth buying the whole experience for Wii Remote play. Enjoy!
