Though not exactly available in such wide varieties as desktop speakers, laptop speakers still exist as a market segment, and Logitech has just addressed it by unveiling the Z515 and Z305, portable but capable audio solutions that communicate with one's mobile PC via wireless and an USB cable, respectively.

As end-users may know, Logitech is a world-class supplier of computer peripherals and sells a host of keyboards, mice and audio solutions.

The newest duo of products deal with high-quality sound on the go, in other words with enhancing the audio performance of laptops.

What Logitech created is a pair of speakers, the Z515 and Z305, which deliver high-quality sound thanks to their 2-inch drivers.

According to the company, both newcomers can deliver full stereo sound and strong bass.

The Z305 is a lightweight, USB-connected product which features a 360-degree audio design and weighs just about one pound, so it is easy to carry.

The Z515 is the more sophisticated one, as it uses 2.4 GHz wireless technology and has a pair of 2-inch drivers, as well as a frequency response of 122 Hz 20,000 Hz.

The Z515 also boasts a battery that lasts for up to 10 hours and, like its sibling, is bundled with a soft travel case.

"The speakers built into most laptops are tiny and can't always reproduce powerful audio," said Mark Schneider, vice president and general manager of Logitech's audio business unit.

"Whether you're an MP3 junkie or a movie lover, our two new laptop speakers make it easy to connect, turn the sound up and lose yourself in the things you love. There's no reason that you can't have quality audio while you're watching the latest YouTube sensation or the newest Hollywood release on your laptop," he added.

The Z305 and Z515 cost $60 and $99.99, respectively.
