14 DAY TRIAL // Mike Ruiz might not be a name that rings a bell with many readers but he’s no stranger for Adam Lambert fans. Ruiz shot the American Idol runner-up at the beginning of the year, for a spread that was deemed anything from absolutely fab to perfect symbol of utter Hollywood glamour, as we also reported at the time. It’s now Lance Bass’ turn to try his hand at this game.
The former N’Sync member, whose orientation was for a very long while among the worst kept secrets in the industry, until he decided to come clean about it – and out – on the cover of People magazine, is looking fabulously goth in the pictures that have started leaking online the other day. One set of them shows Bass in makeup and style of dress very similar to that which Adam Lambert also rocked, also for Ruiz, which has expectedly generated plenty of talk of whether the similarity was intended or purely accidental.
“Lance Bass took the liberty of updating his Facebook with these interesting photos of himself, which were taken by Mike Ruiz. If that name sounds familiar, it’s because he was also the photographer responsible for the fab shots of Adam Lambert. I’m pretty sure the makeup artist dipped into Adam Lambert’s makeup bag, because he’s rocking the goth look with this shoot,” AllieIsWired writes. Others, like Perez Hilton for instance, are certain Bass is copying (or perhaps paying a tribute to) Adam Lambert.
However, while the photos are truly fabulous, there is one thing that’s mildly distracting in them: Lance’s eyebrows, the same e-zine says. “I really didn’t need to see the nerdy watery-eyed guy from ‘NSync looking like he got attacked by a wild chola with a Sharpie. But, on the other hand, this may qualify as an improvement. I don’t get what would possess him to want to wear all of this black makeup? I guess with all of this, there’s no reason to hold out for an ‘NSync reunion anytime soon, is there?” the post accompanying some of the pictures reads.
And AllieIsWired is not the only glossy e-zine to point out how ridiculously drawn Lance’s eyebrows are. On the other hand, that too is part of the whole goth makeup thing, so perhaps the star’s stylist intended them to attract attention this way. Still, if he is truly trying to copy Lambert, better luck next time, word in the blogosphere also says.
