Lance Armstrong’s image took a serious hit in October, when he decided to no longer fight the doping charges against him and he was consequently stripped of all his Tour de France titles. He will open up on the controversy this month.

Since being thus disgraced, Armstrong has not said a peep, a stance he maintained even when sponsors he had worked with for a long time starting dropping him.

He will be breaking his silence in an interview with Oprah for Oprah’s Next Chapter, Gossip Cop confirms.

“[He will] address the alleged doping scandal, years of accusations of cheating, and charges of lying about the use of performance-enhancing drugs throughout his storied cycling career,” a statement from OWN to GC says.

The interview will be taped at Armstrong’s home in Austin and will air on January 17.
