Lana del Rey is making fast progress with her new album, “Ultraviolence” which is due to drop this May. She has prepared her first release from the album and it's called “West Coast,” a slow song in her usual style.

The song is released on the internet with an added video slapped to it, but it's probably going to get a proper clip later down the line. So far, it's just a black-and-white loop with a beach scene starring Lana Del Rey clad in black leather.

Lana has already previewed the song this weekend by singing it live at her show in Las Vegas and then again during her set at the Coachella Festival.

The album art has also been released and it shows a darker Lana, which is a departure from the colorful and playful cover of her previous album “Born to Die,” as per the lyrics in her new song: “Down on the West Coast, they got a saying, 'if you're not drinking then you're not playing', but you put the music, you put the music in you.”

The singer let it slip earlier this year that her album was dropping this May, but she didn't mention exactly when. All we know is that it's supposed to be sometime later next month.
