Lana Del Rey's unique vocals mean that she's being considered for a lot of movie soundtracks these days. We all remember that she sang on the soundtrack of “The Great Gatsby” starring Leonardo DiCaprio and “Maleficent” starring Angelina Jolie.

Right now, The Sun is claiming that Lana Del Rey is being eyed by producers of another important film franchise with a lot of pedigree – James Bond. The latest spy film, generically entitled “James Bond 24” for the moment, is about to begin production and the question of the song has popped up.

Insiders reveal that Lana Del Rey is on the list, but so are other important acts, meaning that it's going to be a stiff competition in the end. “Producers know it has to be a great song with a killer vocal to rival the phenomenal success of Adele's ‘Skyfall,’” says one insider.

“Sam[Smith] seems like the favourite but Lana could definitely give him a run for his money,” it is mentioned by the same source. If Lana does manage to land the job, she will have her work cut out for her, since the last song, Adele's “Skyfall,” which came out in 2012, went on to become one of the best Bond theme songs of all time, and even won an Oscar for Best Original Song in 2013.
