Earlier this month, Lana Del Rey was the musical guest on SNL. Seeing how she's the hottest young artist on the scene right now, her performance got a lot of hype but ended up by disappointing many.

She's addressing the so-called controversy around her so-called disastrous performance in a new interview with Rolling Stone magazine, AceShowbiz reports.

As we also noted at the time, even before Lana was done singing her two songs on SNL, there was a lot of talk online (on Twitter in particular) about how she wasn't prepared for live performing yet and even how she might think of another career.

Since then, Lana hasn't said anything about people's reaction to her performance, which was criticized and ridiculed even by celebrities using the social networking website.

Part of the reason she didn't, it would seem, is that she didn't see anything wrong with it. Neither did those who watched it live, she says.

“I actually felt good about it. I thought I looked beautiful and sang fine,” the singer, whose debut album “Born to Die” is out now, says.

“It felt OK. The cast and crew said they loved it. I know some people didn't like it, but that's just the way I perform, and my fans know that,” she adds.

Whatever impression fans at home got that she was feeling too awkward to be on stage to be able to perform was wrong, Lana explains.

Granted, she's not a natural born performer, but she didn't feel particularly bad about getting up on the SNL stage to sing live for the people in the audience – and those at home.

Lana believes that her performance got so much media attention because people are looking stir up stuff and cause a controversy where there's nothing out of the ordinary.

She knows how this works.

“It's nothing new. When I walk outside, people have something to say about it. It wouldn't have mattered if I was absolutely excellent. People don't have anything nice to say about this project. I'm sure that's why you're writing about it,” she says.
