14 DAY TRIAL // As a new paternity scandal is blowing up right now, after allegations made by O.J. Simpson’s manager claim Khloe Kardashian could be his daughter, Lamar Odom, Khloe’s husband, is also out to destroy her. He’s asking for $10 million (€7.36 million) and his engagement ring back to divorce her quietly.
Khloe and Lamar have been plagued by divorce rumors since shortly after their wedding, but it’s never been as bad as it is now, when all this speculation is fueled by reports that Lamar is addicted to drugs and this is why his marriage is falling apart.
Last month, one tabloid claimed to have it on good authority that he had a lot of dirt on Khloe and he was willing to go public with it if she didn’t cough up 5 times the amount now circulated. Today, it’s The National Enquirer (via Radar Online) who’s running with the payout story.
Admittedly, Khloe is determined to pull the plug on the marriage and has been actively talking with Lamar about it, with help from her momager Kris Jenner, who’s trying to get Lamar to keep quiet about the marriage and all the Kardashians once he’s a free man.
In other words, Kris is trying to get Lamar to sign a confidentiality agreement but, before he does that, he wants them to pay him $10 million (€7.36 million) and return the engagement ring he bought Khloe, which set him back about $1 million (€735,294).
“Kris and Khloe are very worried about Lamar. He’s a loose cannon, and he has a lot of dirt on the family and nothing to lose. He knows all about their extreme surgery procedures — when, how often and how much — and the pressure put on the younger girls to follow suit,” says a spy.
Lamar is also in the possession of a certain tape he made with Khloe, which he wouldn’t think twice about leaking (read: selling) to the press.
“Lamar is also prepared to destroy Khloe’s reputation by discussing [it] and how she targeted him and tore his family apart. Kris is insisting on a confidentiality agreement to ensure Lamar can never discuss his life with the Kardashians either in print or verbally. He’s not signing anything until they cough up the dough,” the source explains.
The report conveniently doesn’t mention the prenuptial contract that the two signed before they were married, whose existence Kris confirmed a while back and which would probably prevent Lamar both from talking about Khloe after the divorce and from asking for money.
