14 DAY TRIAL // Lamar Odom’s marriage to Khloe Kardashian was in serious trouble for the most part of 2013 but he didn’t lose hope that they could somehow make it work against all odds, even after she filed the divorce papers around Christmastime. He has now finally given up on the marriage, it has emerged.
Hot on the heels of a report saying that Lamar was calling Khloe “like crazy,” trying to get to the bottom of rumors that she was dating rapper French Montana, Radar Online is now saying that he’s finally thrown in the towel.
Lamar never made a secret of his hopes for a reconciliation, even saying in an interview this year that he would do whatever in his power to get Khloe to forgive him and to take him back. He also said that he would not take no for an answer for as long as he thought there was still hope.
It turns out there is none left. Insiders tell the tab that Lamar has finally understood that the damage he did to the relationship is irremediable, and he will grant Khloe the divorce.
“Lamar finally gets it, his marriage to Khloe is over. There was a time when Lamar said he would never give up on getting back together with Khloe, but he recognizes she has obviously moved on. He will tell his attorney to submit a response to Khloe’s divorce petition. It isn’t expected to be a long drawn out divorce, since there is an iron clad prenup in place,” says an insider.
For those who don’t know, the marriage blew up amid a flurry of speculation that Lamar was using heavy drugs and refusing to go to rehab, and cheating on Khloe whenever the opportunity presented itself to him. At one point, there were even loud whispers that he’d been addicted to crack cocaine for almost 2 years and that Khloe had tried to get him clean all this time.
Whatever the reason the marriage fell apart, Khloe has refused to talk about it so far, at least in interviews. The family reality series included some of the pre-divorce drama but, then too, Khloe would not say what exactly was wrong.
She is said to have found love again (or at least some form of comfort) in the arms of French Montana. Meanwhile, Lamar has been spending more time with Liza Morales, his ex and the mother of his 2 children, but there’s nothing romantic going on.
