Lamar Odom Falls Asleep During Custody Court Hearing

Odom and Liza Morales come to blows over custody of the kids, visitation rights

Lamar Odom and his ex-girlfriend, Liza Morales, with whom he has two children (a third died when he was just 6 months old), are currently duking it out in court over issues like physical custody, visitation rights and whether the kids are to be included on the Kardashians’ reality show.

The star was in New York City just hours ago for a court hearing with Morales but he was so tired and jet-lagged that he actually fell asleep on a bench, the New York Post reports.

“New York-native and Los Angeles Clippers forward Lamar Odom fell asleep on a hard, not-so-comfortable courthouse bench today as lawyers hashed out his ongoing child custody case behind closed doors,” the e-zine says.

“The 6-foot-10 hoopster’s legs dangled well over the short, second-floor wooden bench. His impromptu nap drew the attention of a Manhattan court officer,” the New York Post says.

The court officer asked him if he was ok, to which he replied in the affirmative. “I need you to sit up,” the officer told Lamar, and he “complied but slumped over, resting his head on his hand,” the report further mentions.

Below, embedded at the end of this article, is a video of Lamar arriving at the courthouse with his attorney.

Both refuse to comment on the ongoing legal proceedings, though his ex isn’t as tight-lipped. In an open letter to The Daily Beast, Liza explains that Omar’s brief courtship with Khloe Kardashian and the quickie marriage broke her heart.

She also writes that she fought with her family to be with him (they dated for 10 years) and, now that he left her, she’s both without her family and the man she loved. What’s worse, her children aren’t growing up with a father, because the only contact they had these past months was via third parties.

Reports online also note that Omar wants his kids to be on the Kardashians’ reality show, a move that Liza opposes strongly because she doesn’t want them in the spotlight.
