14 DAY TRIAL // Even if it might be a case of too little too late, Lamar Odom has just decided that he's ready to fight for his marriage to Khloe Kardashian which, by all accounts, was finished when she filed for divorce three months ago.
After a long period of silence, the basketball player, who has been struggling to get his life back together since the split and has also run into some trouble with his career, wants to get back with Khloe, seeing as how she stood by him for so long.
In an interview with In Touch Magazine, the estranged Lamar says, “I want to make it work with Khloe.” The athlete gave the interview from his New York City hotel room after his return from Spain, where he signed with a local basketball team but had to drop out of the contract due to a back injury.
While getting physical therapy for his back, the star reveals that he plans to make a dash for Los Angeles as soon as possible, adding, “I'm going to see Khloe. I'm going to see her soon.”
After some serious partying that culminated with a leaked video in which Lamar was seen rapping shirtless and very likely high about how he cheated on Khloe, he is now looking to reconcile with his former wife. At the time, it was enough to break their already fragile marriage apart.
However, at the moment, Lamar seems to be ready to get his life back on track, saying, “I'm focusing on getting better.” It's also looking good for the repentant Lamar since, against the wishes and warnings of her concerned family, Khloe seems willing to give him his coveted second chance.
An insider tells the magazine that “He confessed his feelings and cried his heart out to her on the phone” sometime in mid-March which melted pretty much all of Khloe's divorce plans.
“She’d been avoiding his texts and calls for weeks, but when she heard him pleading with her to take him back, she melted,” adds the insider.
Call it coincidence or divine intervention, but the very same day that Lamar was pouring his heart out to the magazine, Khloe posted a photo on her Instagram in which she professed love and understanding through an inspirational message.
This could be read by Lamar as a door left open precisely for him and he looks ready to walk through that door at a moment's notice.
The message read, “I declare that I will live as a healer. I am sensitive to the needs of those around me. I will lift the fallen, restore the broken and encourage the discouraged. I am full of compassion and kindness. I won’t just look for a miracle; I will become someone’s miracle by showing God's love and mercy everywhere I go. This is my declaration.”
